PAAC 1st Annual Tailgate: Cal vs. UCLA. On Saturday, November 4, 2006 from 12pm-4pm, PAAC will be hosting it's first Cal Football Tailgate Party and you are all invited!

There will be food, drinks, and fun at a lot near Memorial Stadium (we have a parking pass to the Cal lots that we will use--we will be at the Optometry Lot, right next to the stadium. Please see http://pt.berkeley.edu/PDFs/PadMap2005.pdf for the campus lot map. The Optometry lot is to the left of the stadium.

For $15, alums and their guests will get a full plate of Filipino food (bbq sticks, lumpia, pancit, rice), snacks, UNLIMITED drinks (beer, sangria, etc), and fun (board games, cards, footballs, etc.) Student pricing is only $5!

The Cal vs. UCLA game starts at 5pm. Bluezone tickets are currently sold out, but reserved seats are still available for ~$48 each. Go to http://www.calbears.com to buy your tickets. We can also coordinate with interested individuals to get bluezone or goldzone general admission tickets for ~$50-55 via craigslist (This is more than face value, but this seems to be the going rate for this game).

If you cannot get tickets, alums will also go to the local bars in the area to watch the game.

The September 2006 Newsletter was sent out last week. We have a number of events coming up in October and November as well as next year. Here is the breakdown of the events:

• Cal Homecoming October 7, 2006: Drop by Sproul Plaza before the Cal vs. Oregon football game and visit the PAA/PASAE booth from 12-4pm. The student groups will be selling food and PAAC will be there too to help out.
• Pilpino American Career & Networking Symposium, October 14, 2006. PASS in colloboration with P4, PASAE, and PAHC will be hosting a series of workshops aiming to help students focus on early career planning on the Berkeley campus. • PAAC Tailgate Party, November 4, 2006: Join PAAC in a parking lot near Memorial Stadium for food and drinks before the Cal vs. UCLA football game. Tickets can still be purchased at http://www.calbears.com for $35.
• PAAC 20th Anniversary Gala, April 7, 2007. PAAC celebrates 20 great years. Please join us for dinner, dancing, and speakers at the Alumni House on the UC Berkeley campus.

Pilipino-American Career & Networking Symposium. On Saturday, October 14, 2006 from 9am-5pm, PASS in collaboration with pre-professional groups P4, PAHC, and PASAE, will be holding the Pilipino-American Career & Networking Symposium on the UC Berkeley. The event is a series of workshops and aims to help students focus on early career planning. PASS needs alumni help with the following:

• Attending the workshops and providing personal insight to the material presented by our facilitators
• Be a guest facilitator of one of the workshops
• Join PASS for lunch or any portion of the symposium to give students an opportunity to meet and network with you.
