A Nipa Hut in the Vineyard: Wines by Filipino-Americans
WHAT:
“A Nipa Hut in the Vineyard: Wines by Filipino-Americans”
-- a wine-tasting event showcasing premiere wines from wineries and vineyards owned and managed by Filipino-Americans.
Attendees will taste flights of California and Oregon wines paired with Filipino foods. Featured wines include pairings from Eden Canyon Vineyards, Silver Oak Cellars, Austin Robaire Vintners, and more. Winemaker Elaine Villamin will discuss the different personalities of each wine and the pairings.
WHY:
The number of Filipino-owned wineries is increasing. Working for years as farmers or cellar masters, Filipinos have long been rooted in the wine industry and have now established their own wineries and vineyards. Intended to be fun and informative, Elaine will discuss stories behind the wine and the Filipino-Americans who made them.
